Most days I feel pretty. Some days, I check myself out and say “hey, you still got it.” Yet, there are a lot of days where I feel the results of having two kids, being used as a human napkin, and the weight of pure exhaustion from being a mom.
Motherhood is hard and it leaves little time for ourselves.
In the more recent months, I have made it a priority to sneak in as much “me time” as possible. Sometimes it’s sneaking out for night out with friends, other times it’s bribing my kids so I can lay in bed a little longer on Saturday morning. Then there are magical moments, like the day I scheduled a blowout and makeup application at Blow la la Blow Dry Bar.
We had a photo shoot coming up for the Sarasota Moms Blog and I wanted to look great! I met with Kim, the owner, and was blown away with her passion for helping women not just look great, but walk out of Blow la la feeling beautiful and confident. It’s refreshing to see a business owner who holds her clients’ happiness at the forefront of every decision she makes.
On the day of my appointment, I was greeted immediately and introduced to my stylist, Katie. Not only is she incredibly talented at what she does, but she was relatable and fun. Katie washed my hair and began to take to me to “la la land” where my troubles were literally floating away. There is something about Blow la la that is extremely relaxing. It could have been the complimentary wine they offered, but I believe it is knowing you are being pampered and that you won’t be interrupted to get someone a snack.
As a visual person, I loved flipping through their look book and working with Katie on the right look for me. While my hair was being styled, Kim came over to check on us. We chatted about hair, Sarasota Moms Blog, and just life. It was enjoyable to have a great conversation while being pampered.
After slipping further into “la la land,” it was time for makeup. As Katie precisely applied make up to bring out my eyes and prep me for a photo shoot, I could not stop smiling. I couldn’t remember the last time I felt this good. It wasn’t just the beautiful wavy hair or the perfectly applied makeup, I felt great on the inside. The outside simply was a reflection of how beautiful I felt on the inside.
As I walked out of there, nothing could ruin my mood.
My hair will eventually be straight again, my makeup will wash off, but that moment at Blow la la gave me a feeling of beauty that will last a very long time.
You deserve to feel this too because you too are beautiful. This is why Blow la la Blow Dry Bar is giving away a Complimentary Blowout!
