Oobleck… what in the world is that?!
Slime is all the rage right now but let’s be honest Moms, the ingredients to make it can be a bit pricey! My daughter loves to search the internet for new fun things to experiment with and today she discovered Oobleck!
Oobleck is a goop that originated from the 1949 book Bartholomew and the Oobleck written by Dr. Seuss. It is a non-Newtonian fluid which means it has properties of both a solid and a liquid. The best thing about Oobleck is you can make it with just 2 (inexpensive) ingredients!
What you will need
- Cornstarch – 3/4 cup
- Water – 1/2 cup
- Food coloring (optional)
- In a bowl add the cornstarch and the water
- Add food coloring if you desire
- Mix with hands!
So what do Emmi and Ryann think of it??
They LOVED it!
But Mommas… this fun can be a bit messy so be prepared for colored hands (if using dye) and messy clothes! But it’s totally worth it when you are stuck indoors on a rainy or extra hot day.
