This is a fun autumn craft that allows children of any age to take part. It’s also a good excuse to get a little bit messy!
What you’ll need:
Paint – red, orange, yellow and brown
How to get started:
- First, you’ll want to ask your child to place their arm and hand on top of the brown paper and draw the outline. This will act as the root and branches of the tree, so the wider they can spread their fingers the better.
- Once you’re happy with the outline, cut it out with scissors and glue it on top of your white card.
- Now for the fun part. Put out a selection of autumnal paint colors for your children to choose from. Just like autumn leaves on a tree, make it more realistic by adding a variety of colors. They can use their fingertips to dip into the paints and press them onto the white card, creating leaves around the branches.
- We decided to complete this craft by also adding some fallen autumn leaves around the tree root and the ground.
So there you have it. A simple autumn-inspired craft to do at home. I love the fact that it’s not only fun, but it also acts as a nice keepsake for their age (and size of their tiny hands) this time of year. Share yours with us on Facebook and Instagram.
