Passionate About the Community
and the Moms Who Live Here

We Are The Moms of Sarasota

We might be here forever. We might move tomorrow.

Right now this is our home.

We are bravely raising our children here. We are watching them learn and grow daily. We are maintaining our homes, sustaining a variety of relationships, and trying to keep it all together. We are natives. We are transplants. We have one child. We have many children. We are married. We are single. We are working moms. We are stay-at-home moms.

We are the moms of Sarasota.

We live in North Sarasota, Lakewood Ranch, Venice, Parrish, West Bradenton, South Sarasota, North Port, Palmetto and Port Charlotte. We proudly claim to live in the 941 region. We live where people choose to vacation and sometimes forget Siesta Key is in our backyard.

We have had late nights, early mornings, long afternoons. We know how to function with a newborn and toddler on zero hours of sleep. We know the feeling of dropping our kids off at school and looking forward to a meal in peace. We know how to get in and out of the grocery store without anyone throwing a fit. And we know how to handle a temper tantrum in aisle three like it’s no big deal.

We have crawled into bed at night hoping that tomorrow goes better. We’ve hid in our closet, the bathroom, outside, or wherever they can’t find us to have a good cry as we ponder if we are doing a good job.

We searched the internet for articles on “how to…” anything and everything. We have diagnosed our kids with life threatening diseases and some of us have had to deal with scary words like childhood cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.

We have felt alone. We have felt unsure. We have felt overwhelmed. We have felt depressed.

We are the moms of Sarasota.

At times we have felt isolated. We go to the park hoping to meet another mom and head home wondering if there is anyone out there that wants to grab coffee or have a playdate. We search the web for local mom groups and hope that we find our tribe. We miss our friends we are familiar with and wonder if this will feel like home for our family.

It’s time for that to change.

Some of us have found our friends. We have found our place. We have fallen in love with this town. We laugh. We cry. We drink a glass of wine together.

Yet, some of us still feel lost in our town. We are here to say it is time for the Moms of Sarasota to unite and support one another. Time to be the community that we all crave. We are moms that will choose to encourage each other, take risks, and have fun! And we invite you to join us!
